News of the moment
- The ID-9 Meeting took place from November 14-18, 2007 at The Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. Thanks to all who attended and contributed for making this a very successful and productive meeting. The speakers were excellent and the Poster Presentations were outstanding.
- MESSAGE FROM DR. SANJEEVI CARANI: The submission procedure for the proceedings of the 9th IDS meeting has been sent to you in a group email, or you can click on this link. The proceedings will be published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences volume on Immunology of Diabetes V. The manuscript submission is electronic and the deadline for submission is January 15, 2008. We appreciate your interest in participating in this activity. Thank you.
- ELECTION RESULTS: Before announcing the new officers I would like to thank everyone who was willing to run for office in this election, your participation was much appreciated. Please join me in congratulating the new officers:

The election was very close, and all nominees were excellent candidates. We would like to take this time to thank the outgoing council: Jerry Palmer (President), Carla Greenbaum (Secretary), and At-Large Council members Bill Hagopian & Kevan Herold. The next election will take place prior to the IDS-10 meeting in May of 2009, which will take place in Malmo, Sweden.
- IDS MEMBERSHIP DUES: PAYMENT IS DUE FOR EVERYONE
IDS membership dues are now linked to the meeting periods instead of annually. If you still have not updated your membership please do so now. To renew your membership please click here and follow the directions to sign up and pay your IDS membership on-line. Your membership fee of $60 will cover your membership from now through the IDS-10 meeting in 2009.
- ANNOUNCING A NEW GROUP TO TAKE OVER THE IDS T-CELL WORKSHOP: You are invited to participate in the development of this Workshop group. Please read the attached letter (insert link) to find out more about the aims of the group, who is on the steering committee and get their contact information.
- MARK YOUR CALENDARS: IDS-10 will take place in Malmo Sweden in May of 2009. Corrado Cilio & Ake Lernmark are heading the committee for this meeting.
